Security personnel entered the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to stop an altercation between occupants of Unity Hall (Conti) and University Hall (Katanga) from getting worse.
Some school and private premises, particularly those in front of the union hall, were vandalized as a result of the disruptions, which began at 5 o'clock.
Eyewitnesses claim that some Katanga students sought to use the Unity Hall's entrance as part of a parade, which led to a misunderstanding between occupants of the two halls.
Following the violence at Mensah Sarbah Hall, hall rivalries have come under attention, which has led to this conflict at KNUST.
