In the prosecution of a lecturer at KNUST accused of abducting his wife, state prosecutors are anticipated to introduce a third witness.
For allegedly kidnapping his wife Rhodaline Amoah-Darko and official misconduct, Dr. Wilberforce Nkrumah Aggrey is on trial.
Yaw Boateng and Justice Appiah, two other conspirators, have also been charged with theft and dishonest reception.
The embattled head of the petroleum department at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, a teaching assistant, is the third prosecution witness to be invited by the attorney general's office to testify.
The explanation for the witness' absence from court on Thursday was that he resides outside of Ashanti Region and is ill, the court was informed during the hearing on Thursday.
The first defendant, Dr. Aggrey, and the second defendant, Yaw Boateng, who are accused of stealing the Infinix phone belonging to the employee of the missing Lands Commission, Rhodaline Amoah-Darko, were both absent from court on Thursday.
However, Dr. Aggrey's attorney and Justice Appiah, the third defendant, were present in court.
Nevertheless, the Senior Lands Administrative Officer's family was present in court to observe proceedings.
The hearing is postponed to July 19 and 21 so that the witness can give a courtroom testimony.
