A Police woman butchered, AK47 rifle stolen - Zebilla in the Upper East Region

At a roadblock in Zebilla, in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region, a female police officer was attacked with a deep cutlass wound by an unidentified person.
Someone has stolen her AK-47 rifle.
The female police officer and a coworker were on duty at the time of the incident near Zebilla SHTS, according to the Zebilla Police Command.
The female officer left the checkpoint at around 8:30 to 9:00 p.m., according to the Command, to make a purchase at a store 20 meters away.
According to the report, she was being followed by an unidentified man who appeared to be heading in her direction. Before she could react, the man stabbed her repeatedly in the ribs, hand, and head with a cutlass.
She passed out, the criminal snatched the firearm away, and he began intermittently firing, according to the Command.
Residents reportedly went outside in large numbers, but the offender was able to flee with the rifle, according to the Zebilla Police Commander, ASP Jackson Kporte.
They hurried to the crime scene, he said, and retrieved a cutlass.
According to ASP Jackson Kporte, the female officer was initially taken by ambulance to the government hospital in Zebilla before being transported to the Tamale Teaching hospital to receive treatment.
Since then, a probe into the situation has been launched by the Zebilla Police Command.
