Three NPP constituency candidates in Ayawaso West Wuogon have dropped out of the campaign.
Three candidates in the ruling New Patriotic Party's constituency executives election in the Greater Accra Region's Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency have withdrawn from the race.
Benjamin Botwe and Bismark Appiah, who were running for Secretary and Organizer, respectively, are among the three.
Bismark Appiah, who talked to Citi News, stated that he withdrew from the contest in order to assist in the removal of the incumbent.
"Our goal is to oust the current organizer." We can't contest an incumbent organiser if we wish to get rid of him. We need to band together and choose one person to challenge him. We used to be four, but two of us have stepped down to make room for Bamfo."
In some seats, the NPP's constituency elections were marred by pockets of discontent and a series of judicial challenges.
Members threatened to boycott elections if due processes were continually undermined. In some cases, party executives were accused of preferential treatment, circumventing party procedures, and other electoral under-dealings.
