Armed thieves attacked a petrol pump attendant at Akyem Abenase in the Akyemansa district of the Eastern region, leaving her in severe condition.
The three armed guys are believed to have targeted the nearby Glory Oil gas station.
According to reports, the robbers approached the facility around 8 p.m. on Thursday night under the guise of purchasing fuel. Faustina Ampomaa and Jennifer Sakyibea, the attendants, were injured to varying degrees.
Doris Appiah, a coworker who managed to flee, informed Kwasi Azor of Adom News that one of her colleagues was taken to Koforidua Hospital with injuries.
The armed robbers were shooting randomly, she added, but they couldn't get away with any money.
According to preliminary police investigations, the first victim, Faustina, was shot in the face when the robbers were unable to break through the mental door.
Jennifer, the second victim, was struck with a metal bar through the glass door to the cash room.
Despite this, police claim that the robbers were unable to access the room due to security mechanisms on the door.
The robbers have subsequently being sought by police.
